About Me

"If you want to start practising yoga, you first need to learn how to stretch and be flexible within your mind"
Silvia Shiva

I have been practising yoga since the late '90s, and have never stopped since.

I began practising Ashtanga in the UK then moved to California, and practised the Vinyasa with a Hawaiian teacher. A few years later in Thailand, I was able to practice Yin Yoga, later on focusing on traditional yoga, based on Meditation and breathing (Pranayama).

Further moving to Mexico led me to the practice of Kundalini yoga with its mantra, chants for meditation and its physical flow with movements.

In Vietnam, I achieved my 1st Teacher Training Certification of 200 hrs, specialized in the style of Hatha yoga.

In India, I specialized with further training of Hatha yoga (200hrs) and Vayu Sadhana, the wind meditation and slow movement discipline.

Back in Thailand, in 2019 I have got the certification of Aerial Yoga (from ULU yoga style-concept)

This style has been for me an enthusiastic new yoga concept, which can merge between a traditional discipline and a more modernised practice with the use of firm and strong fabrics that help create an exercise in gravity and thus deeper muscle stretches with its own gravitational weight capacity.

I found this style, which I re-named Wing Yoga, very beneficial, nice and physically speaking develops an elasticity without too much risk.

Besides all of my Yoga addiction, my main job for most of my life has been in the Travel Industry, as a Tour Operator, Event organiser and Travel Agent, which has been also the reason for such many moves all over the Globe. Since I was young I had this spontaneous vocation, of the endless traveller, so I have studied to become a Tour Operator that would have allowed me to travel and work.

As most of us, I have started my job experiences from the bottom, working in a Touristic Information Office, Tour Guiding, Travel Agency and then my first step abroad in 1998, not Socials not many cell phones and that was the greatest adventure of a new life path for me.
UK, New York, and then back to England, once again back to the USA, this time to California State, then Costa Rica, Thailand. Back to Central America, this time to North Mexico. Yet not feeling ready to settle another move to South East Asia, Vietnam. Followed to a very short stop to Brazil and then back to the roots of my own Country, Italy. But you know, a vocational traveller always has itchy feet, and I took another move, this time to Canaries Island to end up to my present home, Portugal.

Love at the first sight, and here I am still and happy in this Paradise called Madeira Island...!

Certified in Hatha yoga in 2014 and the second certification in 2018. In 2019 certified in Aerial Yoga, ULU style. As a YA teacher registered, I am looking forward to keeping moving towards my knowledge and path of Yoga to become a teacher trainer.

Yoga is a miracle and is a wonderful lifestyle philosophy.

Lately, I have decided to study and get certified as a Restorative yoga teacher as well, to enlarge my skills in teaching and of course sharing the benefits of such practice.  This is a gentle, slow style of yoga that involves long, passive holds in restful poses. Yogis are often supported by props such as blocks, folded blankets and bolsters, to enhance or deepen their experience and achieve a state of total relaxation and release. Restorative yoga classes are based on the teachings of B.K. Iyengar

I noticed a lot of people, different ages and genders have difficulties balancing the daily routine life, work-family-emotions, with the awareness of taking care of themself more and realise when it is the time to stop and not allow the stress to take over, and this is a type of yoga can help to be more focus on yourself and release tensions and stress.

Me all around the globe ...
